This position is part of a team-oriented workgroup who consistently achieves extraordinarily high customer satisfaction ratings and conversion rates, who upholds UCI’s status as a “Same-Day Callback” facility, and who maintains acceptably minimal call queue hold times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Assures that correct order is in for the exam and that it is the correct exam for the diagnosis and the radiologist’s last report (if completed at UCI).

  • Assures that there are 366 days between annual screening mammo’s.
  • 6 Month Follow Up – assures it is scheduled at or after the 6-month mark.
  • Breast MRI: patients must have had a mammogram within 6-months of the scheduled date of a breast MRI. If not, the patient must be scheduled for one with an order from the referring physician office.
  • Requests prior studies and reports for all breast related imaging from outside facilities assuring they are received in time for the patients’ scheduled appointments, otherwise appointment needs to be rescheduled.
  • Responsible for all confirmation calls for all mammograms.

  • Use both color flow and spectral Doppler to accurately evaluate cardiac stenotic and regurgitant lesions, and intracardiac shunts and other hemodynamically significant lesions. 
  • Evaluate the hemodynamic significance of various cardiac disease states using all imaging modalities available in accordance with the department’s protocols

  • Inform interpreting physician if an abnormal finding and/or a hemodynamically significant change is present from previous examination. 
  • Greet and prepare patient for imaging procedure.
  • Explain to patient in detail the events that will take place.
  • Collect and record patient data.
  • Interpret clinical data provided on requisitions and adjust technical factors if indicated to produce optimal images.
  • Practice sterile techniques in all activities to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Scheduling patients for procedures.
  • Knowledge of RIS and PACS software and call for support when problems arise.

Medical Assistant

The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of patient care in our radiology department including starting I.V.’s, preparing equipment, assisting in procedures, and performing general administrative duties. A recent background in radiology is preferred, but not necessary for this position.

STARTING PAY: $18.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy experience or certification.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and prepare patient for imaging procedure. patient for imaging procedures.

  • Performs and documents patient’s intake vitals.
  • Assisting with X-Ray and MRI Scans.
  • Gather and document patient’s information.
  • Administer medication and treatments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and other departments.
  • Perform electrocardiograms.
  • Administer basic first aid, as necessary.
  • Assist patients with ambulation and transfers.
  • Assist with laundering of gowns, towels, etc.
